Are there any social justice projects going on in your parish? What projects or issues?
Primary Focus is Woman and Child Issues- Human Trafficking issues. Doing work with Rescue and Restore project-program sponsored by the Health and Human Services department. Pilot in 16 cities, St. Louis being one. Victim oriented. Looks at what\who/why/when and where of human trafficking. Shareholder Action for Systemic Change IN second year of 5 year focus on water pollution issues. Missouri and Mississippi River Working with Peabody Coal and Arch coal on mountain top removal project with Catholic community in Appalachians

Are there any social service projects going on? Recently collaborated with student from Fontbonne college on a community garden project. Minister to women who are coming out of prison Death Penalty work.
Does your group offer any opportunities for adult education, such as forums, discussions, educational sessions? Recently had an educational session on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Holding session in near future on World Bank-Debt Reduction-30 minute videos (Furnished thru Maryknoll) followed by discussions. These video sessions have been very successful. |
